ArtSpeak is being held in the Commons Gallery, Art & Art History building, University of Hawa‘i at Mānoa from 5 – 31 October 2014.

Weekdays – 10 – 4pm

Saturdays – closed

Sundays – 12 – 5pm

Sunday October 5

  • Opening events for Binding and Looping – Transfer of presence in Contemporary Pacific Art and ArtSpeak
  • 1pm – Official Opening commences UHM Art School Auditorium. Speakers to include:
    • Rod Bengston – Director, UHM Art Galleries
    • Peter Arnade – UHM Dean of Arts and Humanities
    • Deborah Waite – Curator Binding and Looping – Transfer of presence in Contemporary Pacific Art

  • 2pm Hawaiian opening blessing lead by Keali‘i Gora, Administrator Puko‘a & Kuali‘i Council, School of Knowledge, and President of Ka Lei Pāpahi
  • 2.30 Galleries open to the public
    • Keone Nunes – Traditional Hawaiian tattoo practitioner, featured artist in the Commons Gallery
  • 3pm – Entertainment by Ka Lei Pāpahi
  • 5pm – Galleries close
